The Sandra A. and John E. McCullough Scholarships in Journalism or Government

A few years ago, the University established the Sandra A. and John E. McCullough Scholarships in Journalism or Government. The scholarships help support juniors and seniors “who are pursuing a course of study in journalism or government that may lead to a career in elected office, a government agency including staff positions in an elected official’s office, or a career in journalism focusing on government or public policy issues.”

The scholarship will assist with tuition at Notre Dame, and is available to students who are eligible to receive financial aid (as determined by the financial aid office).

Current sophomores and juniors majoring in political science who are interested in applying are asked to write a short essay (300 to 500 words), explaining their interest in seeking a McCullough Scholarship and their career goals. Please also submit a short resume, as well as a list of all courses taken and grades received in those courses (that is, we do not need an official transcript).

The deadline for submitting the essay is June 15, 2012 and can be e-mailed to amdemoc@nd.edu.
